January 15th, 2002
Greetings and Happy New Year. We hope the holidays favored you and your families well. The Aquabats have just returned from a monster two-day tour and are exhausted. The Nile Theatre in Mesa, Arizona on Jan. 11th was awesome as The Aquabats thwarted evil and saved the kids from just another rock show. The next night in Las Vegas, The Aquabats destroyed the club Tremorz (ironically, by bouncing and craxking the floor) in the hopes that no other bands would ever have to play there ever again. Good times were had by all (especially to those few kids who could actually see the band.)
Now. With three days left before the Secret Cadet Summit, The Aquabats want to answer a few questions and clear up a few matters. On Friday, The Aquabats will be playing the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles (which IS SOLD OUT, by the way). AquaCadets in attendance at the show, will be able to recieve a top-secret package containing the information and location of the Cadet Summit, which will be held the next day at an undisclosed location. ONLY CARD-CARRYING CADETS WILL BE GIVEN THESE PACKETS!! No one whining that they are a cadet but lost their card will be given this special packet that will contain other special items besides just information. You may pick up a packet for a cadet not in attendance or not able to get into the show. BUT you MUST provide a color copy of the absent cadet's ID card. Sounds like a lot of red tape? Well it is. That's the way we like it. RED TAPE! We love it.
The Secret Summit will take place during the day and will be over in the early evening. But that's the only hint we're going to give you.
We hope all you cadets are able to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience (that just may happen again sometime). If you have not already bought tickets to the El Rey show, it is totally sold out. So please try to contact other cadets who may be able to pick up a packet for you at the show. Otherwise, you're out of luck.
We realize that not every cadet will be able to attend. Fortunately, we were able to meet cadets in Las Vegas and Arizona before the Summit. Hopefully, someday, we'll all be able to join hands and walk to Mexico - together... for peace.
